BLUE SKIES, SWING SETS & PLAY TIME

How do you photograph 3 children, under the age of 5, and 2 huge Golden Retrievers? You let them play! You let them be themselves and you FIND and capture the moments that will translate the best to still frame.

I must tip my hat and give massive amounts of respect and props to Kristy (not featured in images). In addition to these 3 beautiful children and 2 doggy sons, Kristy has an infant son (just 3 weeks old at the time of our shoot. He was sleeping peacefully). Kristy's husband is currently deployed to Iraq. Who is in charge of feeding, nurturing and corralling these 4 children and two dogs?...SUPER WOMEN is (aka Kristy). I was very impressed!

I take great pride in my ability to scout and incorporate unique locations into the design of my shoots, but this is not always possible for every session. The best location for this group turned out to be the comfort & colors of their very own back yard. We had a blast! Here are just a few examples from our afternoon...

PUPPY POWER!

KISSES TO DADDY!

As we approached the end of our shoot, Peter was getting tired and communicated this to me with his facial expressions :) Although his expression may exclude this image from framing, I find it humorous, honest and all around wonderful! Someday Peter is going to bring a special girl home to meet Mom & Dad, and Kristy is going to pull this image out and embarrass the crap out of him...and then they will all have a good laugh.

SNUFFY...CAN YOU STAND IT?

Can you stand how cute he is? Even when represented in the most simple and abstract of ways...can't you just feel the warmth of this fluffy friendly monster? Snuffy is a 75 pound Old English Sheep Dog, often confused for 115 pounds when sporting a full coat. He is awesome beyond the words of man. He is loved.
